Free Tube Travel on New Years Eve
20/12/2007

New Year’s Eve partiers have no excuse to drive under the influence this year. London Transport is offering free Tube travel from 11:45pm to 4:30am on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day morning.

Travellers can also enjoy free travel on buses, DLR and tram services. This should ensure a safe and easy ride home after a night out partying.

The London Transport services says: “Night buses will be operating as usual throughout the night on New Year’s Eve whilst additional bus services will also be running to provide extra transport links. All London bus services will be free 11:45pm on New Year’s Eve to 4:30am on New Year’s Day 2008. Some routes may however be subject to diversions so check the route before hopping on a bus at the end of your night out.”

London Transport will also suspend the congestion charge between Christmas and New Year. For travellers who would like to go into central London for a bit of shopping or even for work, the fee will be waived between December 25th and January 1st 2008.

Be sure to check the London Transport website for closures and travel schedule changes during the holidays.
