Head to York for historic Christmas party
25/07/2008

For those in search of the more unconventional Christmas party, the National Railway Museum in York could be just the ticket.

The Christmas parties, which sold out last year, involve party-goers sipping their arrival drinks in amongst the inspiring surroundings of the Museum’s Great Hall. Dinner is served in the luxurious Station Hall, where guests will find themselves seated in amongst historic carriages and locomotives.

Guests will consume a Christmas dinner composed from local ingredients, and there will be a live band and disco to drum up some of the Christmas party spirit.

The National Railway Museum has a range of Christmas party packages. Their marketing literature promises the atmosphere of a large party with the exclusivity of a private drinks reception.

Rachel Fox, Corporate Events Manager for the NRM, said: "Following the overwhelming success of last year, we are encouraging people to book their Christmas parties now to ensure they get a place at the most unusual and atmospheric party venue in the city."
