It’s a common complaint that Christmas comes earlier every year with displays in the shops typically appearing in October. However, few could have predicted that the earliest Christmas party of 2008 would take place in June.
Sales company Carpeo, based in Swindon, has thrown a Christmas party six months early, complete with decorations, turkey sandwiches and mince pies.
It’s not all fun and games however: the Christmas ‘party’ was in fact a sales initiative to give the team a boost. It was business as usual – but with the addition of festive fancy dress and tasty treats.
The Christmas theme was the idea of sales leader Kelly Surtees. She said the company had a history of hosting themed days such as beach and back-to-school parties to lighten the mood.
She said: "They're all blaming me - we need to do incentive days because it always gets better sales. I think everyone enjoys Christmas and it's always a bit of fun."
The Christmas theme included a game of pass the parcel, where the package was passed every time a sale was made.
