Britons who are toying with the idea of a new job for the New Year should check out a massive job fair in Glasgow. If getting out of a dead-end career is a resolution to kick off on New Year’s Eve, there are jobs for the taking.

Jobsearch Live, a recruitment fair in Scotland kicks off in January. The event is organized by the Evening Times, The Herald, Sunday Herald and S1Jobs.

The event began in January 2007 and will be back this year with even more opportunities. More than 6000 people were out searching for new opportunities and some even landed a job on the day of the fair. Others were set up for interviews the following day and gained employment within the week.

First Bus, NHS Scotland, Lidl and O2 are some of the companies that will be recruiting at the fair, located at the Thistle Hotel on January 10th. ILA Scotland, Glasgow East Regeneration Agency and Barclays are sponsoring the event which has become one of the largest fairs of its kind in Scotland.

The event is free. For job seekers who plan a new start this New Year’s Eve experts will be on hand to give tips on successful CVs.
